The brown crab or edible crab is found in the North Sea and North Atlantic with some found in the Mediterranean. It has an oval body with a characteristic pie crust edge and black tips on it’s claws. An adult can weigh up to 3 kg. Over 1/3rd of it’s weight is edible meat. The males have a sweeter white meat while the females a browner, richer meat.
